November 13, 2002  Great Expectations

This week has been rather quiet in the land of the Sandynistas. Last week's episode, "One Can Only Hope", was a continuation of Weaver-lite which we hope will mean that we're in for an abundance of Weaver (and Lopez!) screen time in the episodes still to come.  In the brief scenes we did see Kerry, she was looking more relaxed and mellow than she has since the season premiere and we saw the return of the pendant.

I think that all has been quiet on the Sandynista front because we're worn out by the combination of 8 weeks worth of waiting to see Kerry and Sandy on screen together and the heated discussions that came about over the future episode spoilers that filtered out after the Halloween episode.

Being the "spoiler ho's" we are, we've all known since before the start of the season that this would be Season 9's equivalent of "Partly Cloudy, Chance of Rain"...a pivotal episode in the continuing story of our favorite ER Doc.  We knew that this would be Sandy's first appearance and that Weaver's "good news" would be revealed to the unspoiled masses. Here's a little of our discussion/speculation on "Tell Me Where It Hurts"

Snack-sized: No this is the episode where all the Sandynistas and Weaverheads are forced to say that it hurts that there is so little, dare I say, almost no sign of our girls together. It's hurts!!

Erised: Hey snackie, but Sandy DOES appear in this episode...her first this season!

Snack-sized: About time. But speaking about time, do you think the Kerry/Sandy scene will break the 1 minute mark? I'll buy my ticket for that lottery, instead.!

42 snackie, even if it is only the customary 70 seconds, imagine the smiles and glances between Kerry and Sandy.  And the shot of Sandy walking down the hall? ... Hummina!

And finally, this week's Sandynista "Award for Exceptional Foresight" goes to DarlingGirl and her musings on the events of Episode 7 which she posted in the first week of October!:

DarlingGirl: I cannot wait for this episode. Is it clear that this is Sandy's first appearance this season? And first mention?? If so, how/why is she there -- maybe for Kerry's first sonogram or something?? I am dying to know.

If the promo trailer is anything to go by...we're in for a great episode.  Our faith and devotion to Kerry Weaver and her Intimate Firefighter Friend Sandy Lopez will finally be rewarded with what we all hope will be ample screen time.
